Customer Identifiers

You can view and manage customer identifiers in the Customer Identifiers view of the Back Office. To access the view, click Customers in the Back Office menu, and select Customer Identifiers.

Customer identifiers contain three types of default identifiers which cannot be modified or deleted:

  • CustomerCard

  • SsnHash

  • ExternalID

Customer identifiers have the following settings.

Setting

Description

Identifier Name

Give the identifier a descriptive name.

Identifier Type

Select one of the options:

  • Text

  • Number

  • Regular Expression

  • Both types of customers

  • Private customers only

  • Company customers only

Select whether the customer identifier is applicable to private customers, company customers, or both.

In addition, select whether the identifier is mandatory for some, none or all of the following:

  • Credit Allowed customers

  • Private customers

  • Company customers

If you set a identifier to be mandatory for certain types of customers, it is required information for such new customers added to Solteq Commerce Cloud. Note, however that it is not retroactively applied to already existing customers.

Display on POS customer card

Select whether the customer identifier is visible when customer information is displayed in POS.

Unique (company-wide)

Select whether the identifier needs to be unique. When this setting is enabled, the identifier can be added only once with certain key per company. Same identifier can be added multiple times to one customer, but identifier key must be unique per company.

Searchable (Back Office, POS)

Select whether it is possible to search for customers with customer identifier as the search criteria.

Create a New Customer Identifier

  1. In the Customer Identifiers view, click + Add New. New customer identifier settings are displayed.

  2. Enter Identifier Name.

  3. Select the Identifier Type.

  4. Select the settings for the identifier.

  5. Click Save to save your changes and create the new identifier.
